Walnut Grove was a Scott County cross-roads settlement and stage coach stop of the 1860s. The Village includes 22 historic buildings, some relocated from rural Scott County. Pioneer Village has accessible and modern restroom facilities. Great for school groups, weddings and family picnics.

Suggested Donation/Admission

Come learn about  learn about the many wild edibles in your own neck of the woods. We will focus on identifying plants, foraging basics, and preparing wild edibles. We will take a hike outdoors to identify and harvest some of the fall wild edibles available during this time. At the end of the program, you will get to sample some wild flavors! Registration is required.

The November 2019 forum speaker will be Steve Gustafson, Vice Chair of Partners of Scott County Watersheds.

Steve plans to discuss the results of the Snapshots conducted in 2019 in relation to the entire database that PSCW has compiled over the years. He will discuss trends and concentrations for Scott County's rural and urban areas, as well as laboratory analyses that were conducted (MST, herbicides, pesticides).

Scott County, City and State offices will be closed Thursday, November 28, 2019 and Friday, November 29, 2019 in observation of Thanksgiving. Additionally, the General Store is closed Saturday.

Join Naturalist, Becky Baugh, for our first installment of our Crafting for Conservation series. During this series, we will be making arts and crafts out of either natural or recyclable items. During this session, we will be making gift bags out of old calendars and gift bows out of old magazines just in time for the holiday season!
