Join Naturalist Mike Granger from the Wapsi River Center and learn the basics of fishing at Scott County Park - Pride Lake.  He will go over local laws, equipment, fishing techniques plus catching and releasing fish.  Great for young fishing enthusiast and beginners alike.  You may bring your own gear or use one of our Fish Iowa! (IADNR) fishing poles.  Please remember to bring your own bait and have a valid 2018 Iowa Fishing license if 16 years or older.

Join Director/Naturalist Dave Murcia for an adventure with kayaks. Whether you are a beginner or regular paddler, come out to learn basics. Program includes all equipment use, covers safety, techniques, and taking a tour of Lake of the Hills. You may bring your own vessel/PFD, though it must comply with IADNR regulations. Reminder - this program is determined by weather and site conditions, weight capacity loads are 250-300 lbs./solo and 425-475 lbs./ tandem. Dress appropriately and bring water

The event is flighted by the number of teams signed up each night. Men play from the white tees and women play from the red tees. Cost (subject to change) is $55.00 per couple and includes green fee, cart fee, prizes and a cookout after play. This is intended to be a fun night and beginners are encouraged to participate.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to join Director Dave Murcia for a Birds of Prey program at Park Terrace Campground at West Lake Park.   This presentation will include raptor ecology, biology, habitats, and live birds of prey including a falcon and owls.
