West Lake Park

Lake Restoration Notice:

The Beach and Boathouse at West Lake Park are closed for the season. We look forward to re-opening these activities in 2021 after completing the lake restoration project.

All other activities will remain open, including the campgrounds, shelters, cabins, disc golf course and trails.

West Lake Park

West Lake Park.

West Lake Park is a 620 acre facility offering four lakes for fishing and/or swimming. A boat dock, parking lot, handicap fishing dock, beach area, and paddle boat rentals are available for the water enthusiast. For the landlubbers - the park offers picnic facilities, playground areas, modern restrooms and two campground areas with electrical, water, and/or sewer hook-ups. Both camping areas have handicap accessible comfort stations.

Scott County, City and State offices will be closed Thursday, November 28, 2019 and Friday, November 29, 2019 in observation of Thanksgiving. Additionally, the General Store is closed Saturday.

  • At times, trails are closed due to weather conditions.

Admission: Donation of pet supply item(s) or $$$ that will be distributed to Humane Society of Scott County & Down by the Creek Companion Animal Sanctuary.

Things to do: Visit Santa and take your own photos, kids can make Christmas crafts, write letter to Santa or make reindeer food, listen to Old Time Christmas music in the church, buy chili, cookies, hot drinks and unique gifts, watch blacksmithing and enjoy Christmas decorations throughout the Village.

Well-mannered pets are welcome on the grounds AND they can visit Santa too!  However, pets are not allowed in the soda fountain or saloon.

Creating your own home and health care products is cost effective, customizable, and a sustainable solution to buying products with harsh chemicals…plus it is fun! Join Naturalist, Becky Baugh, for our first installment of our Crafting for Conservation series. During this series, we will be making arts and crafts out of either natural or recyclable items. During this session, we will be making gift bags out of old calendars and gift bows out of old magazines just in time for the holiday season! Partners of Scott County Watersheds will be hosting an in-depth Snapshot training on Thursday, December 12 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Davenport Public Works building (1200 E 46th St., Davenport, IA).

The Snapshot Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring events have been taking place since 2003. Three times a year, groups of volunteers will test around 50 sites in Scott County for nitrogen, phosphorus, chloride, pH, temperature, and turbidity, among other parameters.
