Features

Please join assistant naturalist, Becky Horton, and learn about a global Citizen Science Project called the Great Backyard Bird Count. This annual event is hosted by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society and occurs from February 12th -15th, 2016. During this program, you will learn how to get involved with this research project, the findings from last year’s event, and how you can conduct your own backyard bird count at home on February 14th and 15th. Bird watchers of all ages can participate in this project to create a real-time snapshot of where birds are. Please call in advance to register.

Due to infestations of Emerald Ash Borer, Out-Of-County firewood without proper IDALS labeling is NOT permitted. For more information speak with our park staff or visit: http://www.iowadnr.gov/forestry/shadetrees/eab.html
