This program is exclusively sponsored by The Quad City In-Fisherman and is part of the FISH IOWA angler education program. Open to Scott County residents grades K-6. Children 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult, moms and dads are encouraged to attend. All poles and tackle are provided. Registration begins at 8:00am.

The Scott County Park Pool, West Lake Beach and Boathouse are scheduled to be open (weather permitting) Saturday, May 28th through Monday, May 30th, from 10am until 8pm.

These facilities will not be open May 31st through June 3rd, but will open daily for the season on Saturday, June 4th.

Season passes are available for purchase and can be used at both the pool and the beach. We hope to be included in your summer plans!

Young Pioneers

Open for Registration.

Multiple one-week sessions, from June to August, Monday through Friday for children age 6-12 at Dan Nagle Walnut Grove Pioneer Village.

EDIWILD (Educators in the Wild) is a 2-day educators’ workshop to facilitate the incorporation of environmental education and sustainability into the school curriculum.  The workshop will emphasize environmental stewardship and this year’s theme is “W.A.T.E.R.- Working with Aquatic Technology and Environmental  Resources". The workshop will bridge the gap between our most critical natural resource, water, and how human behaviors effect water quality. Using technology and conservation practices, educators will gain awareness and  education to encourage and facilitate lifestyle changes resulting in stewardship.

 

Thursday, June 23, 2016 (All day) to Friday, June 24, 2016 (All day)

We hope to see you at the 2016 Quad Cities Pollinator Conference June 23-24. Over the two days, topics will cover native insects, honey bees and creating pollinator friendly habitat. The first day will be held at the River Center located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, and will consist of nearly 20 experts speaking on current pollinator issues, challenges, and opportunities.

The event will feature an opening keynote by Dr. Karen Oberhauser, Monarch Joint Venture, and a luncheon keynote by Dr. Orley R. Chip Taylor, Founder and Director of Monarch Watch.

The second day will consist of a morning of scheduled tours around the Quad City area, visiting successful pollinator habitat...
