Picture of the Scott County Recorder's OfficeThe Recorder's Office was created by the First Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Iowa in 1839 and is responsible for recording and maintaining official records effecting title to real estate.

The Recorder/Registrar issues marriage license, registers births and deaths, issues certificates on vitals records and processes passport applications.

Picture of the Scott County Recorder's OfficeThe Recorder's office also issues hunting and fishing licenses and registers and titles recreational vehicles; i.e., ATV's, Boats and Snowmobiles.


Scott County, City and State offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observation of Thanksgiving. Additionally, the General Store is closed Saturday.

Scott County Assessor, Auditor, Treasurer and Davenport City Assessor records are searchable by name, address or parcel number.

New and/or transferred vessels are registered in Scott County. Boat registrations expire on April 30th, 2016.

Boat fees are based on the length of the boat. All boats over 17' in length (except canoes and kayaks) require a title. All boats with a lien must be titled.

Marriage Applications are accepted in Scott County Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Applications for a Marriage License are accepted at any County Recorder in Iowa as long as the ceremony is to be performed in Iowa.
