What is a Comprehensive Plan?

  • A process to gather information, receive public input and develop a framework and a guide for how decisions on land use and development are made.
  • A study of the economic, social, environmental, and physical characteristics of the jurisdiction or area covered in the comprehensive planning process.
  • Generally adopted as policy and guides the adoption, enforcement and implementation of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances.
