Scott County encompasses four main community school districts: Davenport, Bettendorf, North Scott and Pleasant Valley. Plus, three rural districts serve outlying areas. More than a dozen parochial and private schools are also options.

Area businesses partner with schools in many ways to complement the learning experience to increase student skills and share vital tools needed for success.

Higher educational opportunities include two private, four-year liberal arts college, a state university regional center, two community colleges, a world renowned chiropractic college and a graduate-level consortium. They include:

The Call to Worship and Volunteer

Throughout Scott County, more than 400 churches serve as focal points of neighborhoods and communities. Diversity in faiths, from well-established traditional places of worship to newer denominations and sectarian groups, provides important spiritual connections. Several private schools are directly connected to area churches and faiths. Others support elderly housing or day-care facilities.

Scott County has a strong tradition of volunteerism that help a myriad of causes. Local volunteers are the essence of the neighbor-helping-neighbor attitude that thrives throughout the Midwest. Whether it's helping the community, an individual or greater world cause, humanitarians of all ages serve in more than 500 civic organizations throughout the area.

A full range of quality health-care services is available throughout Scott County. Small specialized and general clinics are close by in every community, and in Davenport, Genesis Medical Center serves the health-care community for all Scott County residents.

In fact, the two Genesis campuses serve a 10-county area. It is considered the regional leader in cardiovascular services and the referral center of choice in the region.

Trinity Medical Center also provides full services, with many specialty programs.

Palmer College of Chiropractic operates three clinics for chiropractic care and rehabilitation.

In addition, express care centers and private physician practices include state-of-the art outpatient services. Multi-disciplinary care centers focus on chronic health problems. Alternative health centers are also located in the county.

Scott County residents are just an hours drive away from the University of Iowa Hospitals and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.
