The Scott County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), have concluded their investigation of the Davenport Police Department officer involved shooting that occurred on July 19, 2016, at 1610 Rockingham Rd. After reviewing the case with Scott County Attorney Mike Walton, the following criminal charges have been filed against Rodricco Radell Parks Jr. of Davenport:

*Assault on a Peace Officer with a Dangerous Weapon (Class D Felony)

*Criminal Mischief 2nd (Class D Felony)

The Sheriff’s Office has received an increase of reports in the last week of phone scams of people representing themselves as working for the IRS.  Please remember and share the following information from the IRS:

The IRS first contacts people by mail – not by phone – about unpaid taxes. And the IRS won’t ask for payment using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The agency also won’t ask for a credit card number over the phone.

If you get a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS asking for a payment, here’s what to do:

  • If you owe federal taxes, or think you might owe taxes, hang up and call the IRS at 800-829-1040. IRS workers can help you with
