Apply for your U.S. Passport with the Scott County Recorder during extended passport acceptance hours on Wednesdays for the month of February. You can always apply Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Marriage Applications are accepted in Scott County Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Applications for a Marriage License are accepted at any County Recorder in Iowa as long as the ceremony is to be performed in Iowa. [ More ]

Sail BoatBoats And Other Watercraft Owners

New and/or transferred vessels are registered in Scott County. Boat registrations expire on April 30th, 2010.

Boat fees are based on the length of the boat. All boats over 17' in length (except canoes and kayaks) require a title. All boats with a lien must be titled.


The Recorder's Office

Picture of the Scott County Recorder's OfficeThe Recorder's Office was created by the First Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Iowa in 1839 and is responsible for recording and maintaining official records effecting title to real estate.

The Recorder/Registrar issues marriage license, registers births and deaths, issues certificates on vitals records and processes passport applications.

The Scott County Recorder's Office does not provide legal services, does not prepare legal documents and does not accept credit cards.
