The Scott County Attorney's Office serves in civil matters as legal counsel for the Scott County Board of Supervisors and all county officers and agencies in civil matters. It also serves in criminal matters as chief prosecutor in criminal prosecutions for the State of Iowa in Scott County.

The Scott County Attorneys Office has a staff of assistant county attorneys and support personnel consisting of paralegals, legal secretaries, intake clerks, subpoena and victim support, case expeditor, reception and office administration.

The Office processes over 4,000 indictable criminal cases per year and averages six contacts with county agencies per week.

On May 31, 2009 the Scott County Attorney’s Office suffered a great loss with the death of Assistant County Attorney Robert Weinberg. Bob suffered a stroke while at work on May 28, 2009.
