Recorder's Office Postpone all Non-Essential Requests

Please postpone all non-essential requests for vital records, marriage applications, boat renewals/transfers, and passports. 

Due to Covid 19 Corona Virus, Scott County Recorder, Rita Vargas, will be enacting different staffing in the Recorder’s Office.

The health and well-being of our customers and employees is our top priority. Last week employees in the Recorder’s Office began implemented precautions to ensure their safety and the safety of their customers throughout Scott County and the surrounding area.

To protect your personal health and the health of our employees, before visiting a Scott County building please call ahead to see if you can conduct your business electronically or over the phone. Visit the county website, https://www.scottcountyiowa.com for the most up-to-date information about the rapidly evolving situation. 

Like all offices we are likely to experience some reduced staffing in the coming weeks. The office will remain open but with limited operation of services. We are requesting from the public to postpone all non-essential request for vital records, marriage applications, and boat renewals/transfers.

Passport application services have been temporarily suspended.

Recording of land records will be ongoing but we ask that documents be e-submitted through the Iowa Land Records Electronic Submission Service at: iowalandrecords.org or mailed.

We encourage you to utilize our online land record which offer access to documents back to 1989.
