PASSPORT DAY – MARCH 21, 2018

Scott County Recorder, Rita Vargas, is extending their work day hours on Wednesday March 21, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm to provide passport acceptance services to citizens needing a first-time U.S. passport.

Important! On April 2, 2018, the U.S. State Department has instructed all acceptance facilities to begin collecting the acceptance/execution fee of $35.00, which is a $10.00 increase over the current fee of $25.00. This fee covers the cost of processing and trackable mailing of the application packet. Passport photos are available for $8.00.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a passport book and/or a passport card is available at travel.state.gov or www.qcpassport.com. U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone at the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778 or the Scott County Recorder’s Office at 563-326-8621.
