Members of the Scott County Conservation Board and Board of Supervisors were on hand to cut the ribbon to officially open the campground and to tour the area improvements: some of which include remodeled restrooms, new electrical and water hookups, new hard surfaced roadways and camping pads, and new playground equipment. These improvements, which total more than $400,000, have been paid for with funds from the Board of Supervisors, the Conservation Board's Capital Improvements, and reimbursements from FEMA, as a result of the flooding.
Join Naturalist Becky Baugh for a workshop on monarch butterflies! During this program, participants will learn about monarch butterflies and why their population is declining. We will help the monarchs by making seed bombs which you will take home with you at the end of the program. We will also take a hike to the prairie and catch monarch butterflies to collect data for Project Monarch Health and Monarch Watch. It will be family fun for everyone!
