Please reference Chapter 14 of the Scott County Code of Ordinances for policy and level of service information in respect to clearance of snow or ice and maintenance of its secondary road system during the winter months.

Snow removal statistics in a typical year:

  • Scott County receives an average annual snowfall of 30.6” (77.7 cm).
  • 561 miles of county roads are plowed of which 344 miles are plowed by motor graders and 217 miles by trucks.
  • There are 14 truck routes and 8 motor grader routes.
  • Secondary Roads takes delivery of approximately 1,500 tons of rock salt.
