Emergency Services Team

Purpose:

To establish a highly seasoned and trained response team within the office that is equipped, trained and staffed to respond to high risk incidents, unusual occurrences and special events, in a safe and effective manner.

General Policy:

It will be the policy of the Scott County Sheriff's Office to select highly motivated deputies in excellent condition who are interested and willing to train and serve as negotiators, snipers and tactical officers in the Emergency Services Team. These personnel will be trained to use special weapons, and tactics and will be held accountable to maintain a high level of proficiency through a process of continued in-service training. The team will establish procedures to assure a rapid call-out process and will maintain their equipment and weapons in a high state of readiness.

Text:

The Scott County Sheriffs Office's Emergency Services Team will be directed by guidelines defined and detailed in a manual developed by the Scott County Sheriffs Office's emergency services team leader, training officer and support personnel.
