Under Iowa law, any person convicted of an “infamous” crime (felony) loses the right to vote and hold public office.

In order to vote or hold public office, a person convicted of a felony must apply to the Office of the Governor of Iowa for restoration of citizenship rights – right to vote and hold public office and have the Governor grant a restoration.

Beginning October 15, 2018 Scott County will open early voting satellite locations. Ballots for all Scott County precincts will be available at all locations. Voter registration forms will be available for new registrations and changes to registrations for people already registered in the county.
