Wapsi River Center Education

The primary purpose of the Wapsi River Center is to provide environmental education. Programs for the public, schools and other groups are being held regularly at the Center. Various natural history and live animal displays are used for a variety of programming needs. Some of the exhibits in the Eco Center include displays on prairies, woodlands, fish and wildlife, reptiles and amphibians, and a touch table.

Environmental/outdoor education can be fun and exciting for students, groups, leaders and teachers. Planning ahead can help ensure a rewarding experience.

Education programs and facilities include:

  • Educator workshops
  • Numerous public and scout programs
  • Internship opportunities
  • Technical assistance programs
  • Guest speaker service
  • Eco Center (nature displays, meeting room and lab).
