Conditions for Clinic Use

Conditions for Using the Scott County Health Department Clinic

Clients coming to the STD Clinic will need to show proof of living in Scott County to be seen.  Please bring one of the following items:

  • Picture ID with name and address
  • School/College ID
  • Pay stub showing name and address
  • Recent business letter on letterhead showing name and address
  • Recent bill showing name and address

The following situations are not appropriate for this clinic setting:

  • Employment or insurance requirements
  • Requesting a pap smear
  • Requesting a pregnancy test
  • International travel requirements
  • Needle stick/blood exposure
  • Second opinion
  • Seeking treatment for Herpes or Genital Warts
  • Adoption requirements
  • Sports Requirements
  • Rape/sexual assault/sexual abuse
  • Pregnant - 12 weeks or more
  • Not an Iowa (HIV testing) or Scott County (STD testing) resident

These patients will not be tested at the Scott County Health Department but will be referred to the health care provider of their choice or may be given a medical referral sheet to an appropriate health care provider.
