What is it? How do I get it?

Bacterias - infection of uterus, tubes & ovaries - Sexually transmitted

Symptoms:

  • Painful lower abdomen (mild to severe)
  • Fever, nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding

What happens if not treated?

  • Infertility
  • Miscarriage - Premature labor and delivery

How can I protect myself?

  • Know symptoms - LOOK for symptoms
  • DON'T have sex if you have symptoms
  • Get tested if you have symptoms
  • Use a condom - EVERY TIME YOU HAVE SEX

What to do:

  • Take all medicine as directed
  • Tell your partners if you have a disease - they need treatment
  • Don't have sex until you call for your results and follow-up tests are negative
