Transportation

Care for Kids connects families to transportation to health appointments.  Through the Medicaid health insurance, families are able to get free transportation services to healthcare appointments billed to their child’s insurance.  Depending upon the child or adolescent’s Medicaid insurance plan, the family will call either their Managed Care Organization (MCO) or the Medicaid Fee for Service transportation broker.  See below for how to contact the different transportation brokers.

For those signed up with Medicaid Fee for Service plans, call the state transportation broker as follows:

For those signed up with a Managed Care Organization (MCO), contact the MCO to schedule rides.  The MCO will connect members to their transportation broker to schedule the trip.

Members, who do not know their MCO or have questions about transportation, call Care for Kids at 563-328-4114, or the Iowa Medicaid Enterprises (IME) Member Services Unit at 1-800-338-8366 or email at IMEMemberServices@dhs.state.ia.us.
