Patrol Division
Driving
marked patrol units, the uniformed deputies are the most visible
members of the Sheriffs Office.
Patrol deputies are responsible for patrolling the county's 600
miles of roads located in an area that covers over 465 square
miles.
The primary concern of the patrol division are the unincorporated
areas of the county, however, many times within the incorporated
cities the Sheriff's Office is requested to assist city police agencies.
Deputies respond to more than 16,000 calls a year
from the Communications Dispatch Center.
Welcome to our newest deputy sheriff, Ares, a German Shepard canine deputy.
Ares and her handler Deputy Tom Gibbs will attend a five week training beginning March 27th. She will reside with Deputy Gibbs. Thank you to the Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA) and the Bechtel Trust for help in funding the Scott County Sheriff’s Office’s new Canine Unit
