June 2009 Police Explorers DC Trip

The Police Explorer’s from Scott County recently returned from a trip to Washington DC. These young adults spent many hours raising money to make this once-in-a lifetime trip come true. Thank you to the many people who helped make this trip possible.

The Explorers Program is available for students from the Scott County area who may be interested in a criminal justice career. The students must be between the ages of 14 – 21 and able to pass a background check. There are training/meetings twice a month (the 2nd and 4th Monday) which rotate between Scott County, Davenport Police Department and Bettendorf Police Department. This training is geared toward law enforcement topics such as traffic stops, building searches, firearms and defensive tactics etc.. The Explorers take part in many community activities including parades, family events throughout QC, road races, etc.).

For more information and/or questions please contact Explorers Advisor Deputy Rachelle Kunde, Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 326-8284.
