Code 50.19 states: All inmates in normal status shall be allowed
reasonable visitation while in county jails.
Scott County Jail provides each inmate two hours of non-contact visitation per week with exception if inmates in discipline status. Inmates are allowed three visitors per week, including children. Each inmate is allowed to change his or her vistation list on Sundays.
The Visitation Officers duties include, but are not limited to: updating visit logs, completing Criminal History Checks (CHC) logs, contacting radio room for warrant checks, providing annex passes.
Visitation Hours:
- Main Jail Monday-Friday 0800 to 2000 (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), excluding holidays.
- Annex Monday-Friday 0815 to 2000 (8:15 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), excluding holidays.
- It is recommended you call the Scott County Jail at (563) 326-8750 for visiting hours, location, and eligibility before arriving.
All person entering the Scott County Jail are hereby subject to the following conditions:
- Before entry, all persons must produce valid picture identification verifying name, date of birth, and social security number.
- All persons will be subjected to wants/warrants verification. Any outstanding warrants will result in immediate arrest/apprehension.
- Any person that has been incarcerated in the Scott County Jail within the previous six (6) months will be denied visitation privileges.
- All persons will be subjected to criminal history verification. Convicted felons will be denied entry and permanently removed from visitation lists.
