Parent Education Program
Professionals from the community facilitate this program. Incarcerated parents learn skills to foster a healthy nurturing relationship with their children. Subjects covered include the following: parenting styles, self-esteem in children, effective communication, disciplinary techniques, and an overview of family dynamics. Upon completion, inmates will receive a certificate of achievement. This certificate may also be a requirement of a court order and/or the Department of Human Services (DHS).
