Scott County Jail Annex

Picture of the Tremont Facility. The Tremont Annex was originally built in 1975 as a light manufacturing facility. The entire facility is 40,000 square feet and sits on about four - 1/4 acres of land in a commercial park setting.

The County purchased the building in 1991 and converted approximately half of it into a minimum-security jail annex that the State of Iowa licenses for 92 beds. The remainder of what once was the manufacturing area is used as a warehouse and storage facility. In 1994, the County renovated and converted 4000 square feet of office space for use by the Scott County Sheriff's Office, Patrol Division.

The Tremont Annex Facility now represents a major jail inmate program effort to reduce the likely hood of return to custody.
