About the Sheriff

Dennis Conard
Scott County Sheriff
Sheriff Dennis Conard resides in Davenport, Iowa with his wife Vicki. They have four children and four grandchildren.
Denny began his law enforcement career with Scott County Sheriff's Office in 1973. While with the Sheriff's Office he has worked in or supervised every division holding every rank in the office.
While with the Sheriff's Office, Denny has written grants that have resulted in the hiring of three deputy sheriff's, two through the COPPS program, the other through the Stop Violence Against Women initiative in the State of Iowa, and in equipment that has enhanced the operational efficiency of the office.
Major goals that have been initiated for the office are to apply Community Policing concepts throughout Scott County, to implement a new radio system, report writing systems and the implementation of inmate programming in the Scott County Jail.
Denny is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, has a bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement from St. Ambrose College and has taken graduate level courses in Education and Police Administration.
