Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Seasonal Pro Shop Manager directs the day-to-day operation of the pro shop to include customer service, marketing, and scheduling and supervision of employees.

Job Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Receives, prices, displays, and inventories merchandise for the pro shop; directs invoices to Golf Pro as necessary.

Collects proper fees for golf play and merchandise according to course policy, checks starting times, monitors signatures on cart release form and directs customers to appropriate service areas; explains cart policies and use of the GPS to customers; monitors base computer to ensure proper pace of play and responds to any problems or emergencies.

Uses diplomacy in explaining rules and regulations of course to the public to include violations, dress code, and food and beverage policies; informs Golf Pro of any deviation from course policies and procedures.

Assumes Golf Pro's duties including shop and employee supervision upon absences.

Responsible for effective marketing including developing displays, coordinating effective pricing strategies, implementing sales events, and special golf outings.

Demonstrates the ability to exemplify, by his/her actions, the County PRIDE philosophy.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Standards for Initial Consideration

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND previous retail sales or management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge of:
Applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.

Inventory management.

Cash handling practices and procedures.

Customer service principles, practices, and etiquette.

General golf course policies.

Skill in:
Interacting tactfully and professionally with County staff, outside agencies, and the public.

Understanding, interpreting, and explaining golf course policies and procedures.

Operating a golf cart.

Completing basic mathematic calculations.

Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.

Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Work is performed indoors. May be required to occasionally work outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
May be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
