Developing Cultural Competence
Description:
The program focuses on decreasing myths about groups we don't know as well as our own and finding ways to increase appreciation for all people. Program goals include: Provide ways to achieve a level of comfort in discussing myths and attitudes as they affect patients, explore ways that attitudes and stereotypes affect patient care, provide ways of adjusting attitudes and becoming more comfortable with racial and ethnic groups, gay and lesbian people and those with disabilities.
