Park System Rules & Regulations
Camping Rules:
Note: Sorry, reservations are not accepted and holding of spaces is not permitted at Scott County Conservation camp sites. All camp sites are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis, and your unit must be on a site before registering. Campgrounds are open year round.
Rules and Regulations are provided below. These rules have been adopted by the Conservation Board and apply to all Scott County parks. In addition, all sections of Iowa Code, Chapter 461 also apply.
- Camping will be permitted only in described campgrounds or in areas designated by the park conservation officer.
- No person shall be permitted to camp for a cumulative period longer than two weeks in a 30 day period.
- No privately owned animals shall be allowed to run at large. Every such animal shall be kept on a leash not to exceed 6 feet in length.
- Each camp unit will be permitted only one table.
- Camp must be quiet by 10:30 pm.
- Fires will be permitted only in fireplaces provided or designated areas.
- No dish washing will be allowed at drinking fountains or in restrooms.
- Hot water shall not be taken from buildings for personal camp use.
- All garbage must be wrapped in paper and placed in refuse containers.
- This permit must be posted where it can be readily inspected by the park conservation officer.
- Tents shall be moved once a week.
- The park will be closed at 10:30 pm and reopen at 6:00 am. For emergencies dial 911.
- Kegs are not allowed in the camping area at any time.
- Peddling, hawking, soliciting, or advertising of a commercial enterprise is strictly prohibited.
- Anyone under 18 years of age must be registered by a parent or guardian.
- Check-out time is 3:00 pm.
- No visitors after 10:30 pm.
Any violation of the rules can result in the denial of camping privileges. The state conservation code gives county conservation officers the right to deny camping privileges in county parks.
