Probation Caseload
|
The Department of Correctional Services provides probation
and two residential facilities, the Work Release Center and
the Residential Correctional Facility.
Between 1995 and 2000, probation caseload varied from a low
of 586.33 per month to a high of 633.42 per month. The level
of probation services provided varies with the risk associated
with each offender.
The Work Release Center is a post-placement facility which
was designed to serve up to 60 male and female inmates charged
with either a felony or misdemeanor; current population levels
at this facility are 81. This facility is used for offenders
who are coming out of prison as well as those who are serving
sentences for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).
The Residential Correctional Facility was originally designed
to accommodate 56 male and female felons or misdemeanants
who are sentenced to the facility as a condition of probation.
Its current population is 64.
