Larry Minard serves on the Scott County Board of Supervisors.
Larry Minard has served continuously on the Scott County Board of Supervisors since first being elected in 2000. He was Chair of the Board in 2005 and 2006. Supervisor Minard came to Davenport in 1968 as a teacher and as Head of the Language Arts Department at Central High School, continuing in that position until his retirement from teaching in 1999.
In the 1980's, Minard was elected to five terms to the Davenport City Council. He also served for 11 years on the Scott County Landfill Commission, two years on Davenport's Zoning Board of Adjustment, and for two years on the committee that distributes Community Development Block Grant monies.
Minard is currently the Board's representative to the Bi-State Regional Commission, the 7th Judicial District Board of Corrections, and to the Quad City Passenger Rail Coalition and the Iowa Passenger Rail Advisory Committee.
Minard is an active member of the Davenport Rotary and has served for 19 years on the Davenport Schools Foundation Board, including seven as president. He is also on the adjunct faculty as Scott Community College.
Larry Minard is married to Carol, and they have one daughter and two grandsons. One grandson has served in Iraq and is now attending Palmer School of Chiropractic, the other graduated from UNI and is teaching.
